Down The Line Hosts a Packed House at Eighth Annual Gala

On Saturday, March 10, 2018, Down the Line and Beyond Foundation enjoyed a packed house for its Eighth annual Gala at the Cynwyd Club in Bala Cynwyd. DTLB supporters raised money to continue Serving Up Healthy Habits and good character to underserved youth in Philadelphia, including refurbishing tennis courts in North Philadelphia.

The day kicked off at “The Courts” in Wynnewood, where Special Guest speaker, former French Open Doubles Champion and ESPN Analyst Luke Jensen, hosted a special clinic for DTLB donors. Luke worked on doubles strategies and volley drills on the indoor clay courts, before going inside for a lunch sponsored by The Courts.

This was followed that evening by the main event at the Cynwyd Club, where guests and Down the Line supporters enjoyed hors d’oeuvres, silent auction, live jazz music and an open bar, followed by dinner, a live auction and dancing.

Luke Jensen brought down the house with his retelling of his 1993 French Open victory with his brother Murphy, before presenting the inaugural Serving Up Healthy Habits award to Kilene Smith and the Community Leadership award to Bodine High School. Down the Line would also like to thank our Board of Directors for their constant work and support, as well as our generous gala committee and event sponsors, whom are able to make everything we do a reality.
